The staff of nci2000.net has not recently (as of 03/04/04) sent any messages to customers warning them of viral infections of their computers or problems with their security, utilization, or disabling of their account. If you receive such a message you should be suspicious of it.

Mail from staff of nci2000.net comes from addresses of the form firstname@nci2000.net. It is also possible to receive mail from billing@nci2000.net. Having said that, you cannot trust the "From:" address in email messages. Let me repeat that. You can never trust the "From:" address in an email message. It is as simple to forge as the return address on paper mail in your post office box. Junk mailers and virii routinely forge email addresses.

One particular virus known as W32.Beagle.J@mm does this in such a manner to persuade you that your ISP is warning you about a problem that does not exist on your computer, but on someone elses. If you receive or have received a message similar to the one described in the above link, you should simply delete it.

Email from nci2000 personnel will include a valid reply address so that the normal "Reply" function in your email program will work.

The first line of this message is no longer strictly true. I have contacted one customer who is now infected with this virus.
